"Monica and Frankie"
by Kimberly Bustillos on 12/30/2008 7:02:09 PM

18x24 Oil of Acrylic base on Hardboard Panel

This painting is for Monica.  She is so protective of the twins.  It amazes me at times how concerned she is for their well being.  Always making sure they get their treats.  Never lets one of them get left behind.  Watches them all day and keeps them out of trouble.  She just loves her younger siblings!  When the twins where still being carried around in their carseats quite often people would take one, or both of them and help me out to my car.  Monica would throw a fit!  She thought they where taking her babies.  She would frantically keep looking at the babies and then me, as if she was thinking "Mom, can't you see whats happening?  They stealing the babies!".  I have to admit, it was a bit funny.  Poor kid.

This is just delightful. The protectiveness you describe shows. My daughter was the same with her little brother. They are still very close and my son says his sister is his best friend.
Your handling of the different textures in the cardigan and dress is masterful. Nice work!

Ah Kim. lol. That is so freaking cute and the picture is so freaking beautiful. I still can't believe you have twins.
